Queenland Helicopter

Queensland Helicopters has many different clients including Ergon Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, Silcar, and various mining companies. Here is what our clients have to say about us:

"Queensland Helicopters has provided Galilee Energy Ltd with reliable low level and emergency transport services in the Galilee Basin for over three years.
Range of Services
Queensland Helicopters has provided low level flying surveys on several of our work programs in the Galilee Basin. The most recent survey was in 2009 and included a 2 day low level flying review and optimisation of a 150km 2D seismic acquisition program. The survey identified alternative access routes and existing fire breaks suitable for our seismic vibration trucks and significantly reduced our environmental impact and project costs.
In addition, during the recent extreme wet weather conditions Queensland Helicopters provided a critical transport service to rapidly mobilise people to and from our well sites.
Health Safety and Environment
Queensland Helicopters provided all documentary support to meet our operational safety standards. They complied with pre and post-flight checks, including simple safety messages and reminders to passengers prior to exiting.
All low level flying was to an exceptional standard with minimal divergence from our pre-configured flight paths as recorded by our real time GPS tracking system.
Local Knowledge
Galilee Energy greatly benefited from their extensive support and local knowledge, specifically during the extreme wet weather conditions where Queensland Helicopters provided a reliable service in order to inform decision making and transfer drill crew and support staff to and from our well site; otherwise stranded by inaccessible roads at considerable discomfort and cost.
We have greatly benefitted from their professionalism and prompt support."

Glenn Haworth,
General Manager - Operations, Galilee Energy Ltd

"It is with great pleasure that we recommend Queensland Helicopters.

Tim Rayner and his team from Queensland Helicopters supply:

  • personnel transfer of up to 4 site staff per flight,
  • multiple flights for transfer of onsite maintenance personnel,
  • onsite spare parts,
  • fuel, lubricants, and
  • victualling supplies,

to both Transmitter and Receiver sites based some 35 and 200 kilometers south of Longreach, for the past 10 years.

All contracted Robertson R44 flying evolutions are carried out with the highest degree of integrity, responsibility, and CASA aviation regulations compliance. Due to the strict aviation access guidelines in the vicinity of the radar sites, flight times are to a strict schedule. At no time during the last 10 years has Queensland Helicopters failed to meet the planned scheduling.

Queensland Helicopters compliance to rigorous standards, time constraints and aviation safety regulations across a diverse area of operations, often in remote areas is a credit to the company, and on behalf of the Lockheed Martin Australia Electronic Systems, I am happy to give Queensland Helicopters our wholehearted endorsement."

Col Moulds,
Jindalee 'Over the Horizon' Radar, Longreach

"Just a quick note to say thanks for all your help with the Q150 aerial footage we shot in Longreach recently. Your services as always were sought and we were able to deliver our client great vision from lots of different heights and angles.

Your local knowledge was a huge help to us. Nothing was too tough when it came to our requests to have the doors removed and where we wanted the R44 put for the best shot.

It was a pleasure to fly with you Tim and we look forward to catching up with you when next we are in Longreach."

Dean Miller,
Business Development / Presenter (Channel 7's "Creek to Coast", "Queensland Weekender", and "Great South East"

"Queensland Helicopters Robinson R44 helicopter was a great choice for the job. Queensland Helicopters are based in Longreach and have extensive knowledge of the area. Not only that, but the R44 has great vision with the doors off and it is a 4 – seater which means we could have 2 spotters and even take the land owners up for a ride."
